I hold my hand up against the din of the world fighting the noise. The pointless irrational soul-destroying Noise. Lost somewhere in there I know is the relative silence of dreams and youth and the simple belief in hope.

Sometimes hope is lost in the shuffle or "noise" of our lives. Sometimes we confuse old unfulfilled dreams as failures. This can be true to an extent but age and wisdom can bring clarity and new goals, new challenges to tackle. They themselves may be more challenging than goals we set in our younger years. Hope can spring from these new goals/challenges and redefine us and actually make us stronger. That is, if we choose to face them head on and not take the easy road and look backwards and linger in the past. Sometimes when looking for what defines us we lose site of those right in front of us, our friends and families who love us and care for us unconditionally. All along we are surrounded by a great sucess in how we shape and change their lives that we do not hear the sounds of this sucess. Whether this is due to the noise of life or distractions of wondering "what if". Its our choice how we manage our choices....but sometimes its okay to ask our friends/families for advice.
At times, the most shrill noise is from within. a subtle prison. choking the heart, strangling with a rope of isolation... the destructive acid of self hate locked within.
Hope doesn't pulse in yesterdays.
The conflicted and confused spirit seeking hope, hides from it. Seeking silence, entombs in it.
A cacophony within, the hand held up, blocks out even melodic whispers of God's love.
Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift, that's why we call it the present!
See the light of the world that God gives us every day. He gives us a new chance at life every single day! Be grateful for that. Don't let the "noise" or the dark side of life get in the way. We choose where we want to be. Let God's light lead your way and get you out of the dark place you have put yourself into. There is always hope! We can't dwell on things we could of or should of done in our pasts. Life can be hard but if you have loving family and friends around you, they can help you through the "noise". Remember you are never alone because God is always with you. Reconnect with life. It's a beautiful world out there. Today is a beautiful new day. Don't lock yourself up anymore. No man is an island. When you need help ask for it. God Loves You!
I love to write, and what better channel to exercise that passion than the ambiguous world of the internet. I am a writer, a runner, a woman. Often happy, sometimes scared, always resilient. My writing is raw, unedited, the culmination of some emotion too powerful to let lie. Like my running, it exposes me, my strengths, my weaknesses. There is an undeniable parallel: the physical exhaustion after a run is eclipsed by the mental gratification; the emptiness after writing negated by the ensuing catharsis.
I don't write here because I think I am great writer, or have a story to tell, or have thoughts so genius the world simply must hear them. I write here for the same reason I run: I have to.
Alas, the knee forbids further racing. I do still run, but, believe it or not, have come to appreciate a run for run and not for how much better it will make me. I also swim. My time in the pool is perhaps some of my most valued and favorite time.
